Try the workflow as you read
Public tool pages can be explored before connecting a league. Imported league tools require your league and team selection.
Choose a build before chasing a rank
A punt strategy reduces or removes a category from your player evaluation. In a head-to-head category league, this helps you compare players against the categories you intend to compete in. It does not guarantee a weekly win: opponents, injuries and roster balance still matter. Start with your league’s scoring rules rather than assuming every league uses the same nine categories.
Set the weights and inspect what changes
Open the public Punt Rankings board. Set an ignored category to zero, or use a preset such as punt FT%. Raise a category weight when it deserves more influence in your evaluation. Compare the resulting order with the balanced board before drafting. A player rising on your board means the selected categories suit that player’s projected profile; it is not a new forecast of their NBA performance.
A practical punt FT% example
Suppose two players offer similar points and rebounds, but one contributes more blocks and has weaker free-throw shooting. Setting FT% to zero removes that weakness from the ranking calculation and can make the blocks contributor a better fit. Still review assists, steals, threes and turnovers across your whole roster. Collecting only one player type can leave several categories weak even after the intended punt.
Use percentages and turnovers carefully
Percentage categories depend on shooting volume as well as accuracy. Look at attempts alongside FG% and FT%; one low-volume efficient shooter cannot necessarily offset a high-volume poor shooter. Turnovers are a lower-is-better category. Removing turnovers can favor high-usage playmakers, but their other category contributions still need to fit your team.
Carry the strategy into your live draft
In the Fantasy Analyzer, use Redraft category controls for your full board. After importing a Fantrax league, use the category weights in Waivers / Live Draft Tracker to evaluate available players for the same build. Refresh Draft Pool after selections so your shortlist reflects the imported rosters. Check the selected division before treating a player as available.
Know what the board measures
The public board uses published per-game projections and standardized category scores. It is a comparison under your chosen weights, not an estimate of your probability of winning a matchup. Review expected availability, lineup positions and your contest’s playoff schedule separately. A rankings adjustment changes your evaluation; a saved rotation scenario changes projection assumptions.
